ICOM is an international organisation of museums and museum professionals dedicated to the conservation, preservation, continuity and presentation to the public of the world's present and future natural and cultural heritage, tangible and intangible. The ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums is the cornerstone of ICOM. It sets out the fundamental norms of professional practice and conduct for museums and museum professionals, defines the ethics of the institutions included in ICOM's Statute for Museums, and reflects the main provisions adopted by the international museum community.
