Valdemaras Vytautas Čarneckis (1893–1942), a politician, minister, and diplomat of independent Lithuania, was one of the founders of the state, its political life, diplomacy, and traditions. This monograph aims to demonstrate V. Čarneckis's positions on key issues of Lithuanian foreign policy, reveal his role in decision-making, better understand his personality traits, contribute to the preservation of historical memory, and research into the history of Lithuania's statehood and diplomacy. Through the personality of V. Čarneckis, the book sheds light on the problems of state restoration, the vicissitudes of international recognition, the defense of state interests, occupation, and its consequences.
