Description
Thousands of exhibits are preserved in the textile collections of the Ethnic Culture Department of the Lithuanian National Museum - towels, tablecloths, bedspreads, bedding, clothing, and fabrics. They reflect the peculiarities of peasant clothing from the late 18th century to the mid-20th century, as well as various interior and household textiles. The constantly expanding collection contains about 10,000 units of clothing and interior fabric fragments, knits, embroideries, sewing samples, and other decorative techniques. As individual exhibits, pots and their parts are rarely displayed or included in exhibition or gallery spaces due to their fragmented nature, although they are valuable for revealing the diversity of this type of work. The aim of the catalog is to present, systematize, and identify the diversity of pots preserved in the collection.
This Ethnographic Yearbook consists of two parts. The first introduces the collection of pots, while the second part reminds about the exhibitions and publications released by the museum in 2008-2009.
