ISBN 978-609-8039-18-4Gediminas Petraitis is a well-known collector in Lithuanian studies, including books, painting, old graphics, and traditional folk sculpture. The published collection of traditional folk sculpture consists of 162 objects. The largest part of the collection is made up of Samogitian sculptures characterized by the diversity and realism of the plots. Most of them are dated from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, with only a few known precise dates of creation and authors. The predominant themes of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary reflect the spread of Christian iconography themes in folk sculpture.
