ISBN 978-609-478-029-5On October 30th - November 31st 2014, The National Museum of Lithuania hosted an exhibition remembering the Lithuanian pavilion at the 1939 World's Fair in New York and commemorating the 75th anniversary of the pavilion's closure. This publication presents all the surviving exhibits from the New York exhibition, most of which are housed in the National Museum of Lithuania, supplemented by documents and photographs in Lithuanian archives and libraries. Most of them are published for the first time. The book attempts to reconstruct and detail the history of the exhibition's preparation, opening and progress, and the fate of the exhibits.
The Lithuanian Pavilion at the 1939 World's Fair in New York is an important and significant sign of the presentation of the modernising independent Lithuanian state on the international stage.
The publication is printed with the support of MG Baltic Concern.
