Description
This book is a narrative about the Soviet repressions experienced by the people of Lithuania in 1940-1941: those who were murdered, imprisoned in prisons and camps, deported to the harsh regions of Altai Krai, Komi, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Yakutia. Photographs, archival documents, letters, fragments of memories, and biographies vividly reveal the fates of people crushed by Soviet power. A significant portion of the material is being published for the first time. It is hoped that this publication will reveal new facts or details to some, while prompting others to delve into primary sources (memoirs, document collections), researchers' work, and encourage an interest in unknown pages of their family history.
