Description
The second book covers ten years of the brutal history of the occupied Lithuanian state of terror, violence, and great loss and suffering. It tells the story of the political repression of 1944-1953 and the people who suffered it, who were deported from their homeland at the will of the Soviet authorities for years and condemned to hard labour, hunger and deprivation in remote regions of the Soviet Union. The gallery of photographs of repressed individuals and families is complemented by documents from criminal and exile files, letters and memoirs - authentic testimonies of the brutality, disregard for legal norms, arbitrariness and the hardships and experiences of the people who were subjected to the repression.
The publication is printed with the support of MG Baltic Concern.
