Description
The third book presents an illustrated account of the lives of people deported from Lithuania to camps and exile during the years of mass Soviet repression, in captivity, far from their homeland: the hard work on forest industry farms, in construction sites, in mine shafts, in collective farm fields and on collective farm farms, the everyday life and everyday worries, the efforts to preserve their Christian and national identity, and, finally, the long-awaited return to their homeland. Most of the photographs published in the book were taken between 1948 and 1958, and most of them show the faces of the Lithuanian population deported during the great post-war exile.
