A large part of the collection consists of works by famous Lithuanian authors, which were prepared and printed in printing houses in Lithuania and other European cities. The collection also includes works by foreign authors containing historical data about Lithuania. The chronological boundaries of the collection range from the end of the 15th century, the early printing period, to the inter-war period of 20th century Lithuania.
