Description
"The Paths of Manors" is an album inviting you to travel around Lithuanian manors together with architect Arūnas Eduardas Paslaitis. It will not only help you to rediscover this area of the country's architectural heritage, but also to explore the history and fate of manors. The routes of the trips also meander beyond Lithuania's borders, through the former lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The drawings also record manors that have disappeared or have changed beyond recognition. As you flip through the pages of the album, you can also get to know the evolution of the author's drawings, his search and development since his first drawings in the 1980s. For half a century, the architect has been travelling around Lithuania, immortalising architectural, cultural and natural objects.
This is the second book on the work of Arūnas Eduards Paslaitis published by the National Museum of Lithuania. The first one, published in 2010, is supplemented by more than a hundred new drawings created during the second decade of the 21st century.
