The publication invites you to embark on an exciting journey through the resort of Palanga together with the colourful and even controversial personality - the long-standing Mayor Jonas Šliūpas.

The publication, accompanied by a map, introduces 22 objects that are associated with Jonas Šliūpas or his work. By travelling and exploring the sites featured here, we will get to know interwar Palanga and discover the cultural heritage and other historical sites of the city that marked the most important signs or events during Jonas Šliūpas time as Mayor, while also learning more about the challenges he faced in Palanga.

The publication is based on old photographs of Palanga resort, stories of the old generation of Palanga residents, local history and archival documents. The book reveals lesser-known or still undiscovered facts about the biography and activities of the long-time Mayor.
