Description

The book tells the story of one of the first Lithuanian archaeologists, Dr. habil. Regina Volkaitė-Kulikauskienė, an academician. The first part presents the personal and everyday side of her biography based on personal diaries, letters, and memories of relatives. The second part is dedicated to reviewing archaeological excavations spanning half a century conducted by Regina Volkaitė-Kulikauskienė. The results of these excavations have long become part of Lithuanian archaeology's heritage. However, even in the most comprehensive publications, data on the organization, composition, and working conditions of the expeditions are often overlooked. This important historical material for archaeology, based on field diary entries and research reports, is presented in this book.
