Description

Jonas Smilgevičius, a signatory of the Act of February 16th and a member of the Lithuanian Scientific Society, can be described as an economical and pragmatic man, who always strived for the best possible result not only for himself, but also for his nation and the state. He studied at Germany's top universities and chose agronomy in order to apply its innovations to the development of his homeland's agriculture and industry. His short-lived political activity in organising the Lithuanian Conference and participating in the Council of Lithuania also shows his constant concern for the situation of his country. Jonas Smilgevičius devoted his skills, wisdom and experience to strengthening the economy of independent Lithuania.

The publication is printed with the support of MG Baltic Concern.
