After researching the personal library of the artist, bibliophile, and collector Kazys Varnelis, the author asserts that bibliophilia, one of the forms of cultural expression, is based on a special relationship between the bibliophile and the book, with exceptional attention to the aesthetic value of the book as an object. For Kazys Varnelis, bibliophilia, inseparable from his own artistic creation and collecting, is a unique area of ​​personal expression. His library, brought to Lithuania from the USA in 1998, became a personalized cultural fact: old chronicles and monuments of Lithuanian press abroad provided the artist, who lived in exile, with an opportunity to connect with his homeland.
