The first part presents autobiographical narratives that reveal the personality traits of I. Končius and diversify his own work. The second part consists of ethnographic sketches about Žemaitija, memories of the takeover of Vilnius University from the Poles in 1939, the evacuation of Lithuanian prisoners to Červenė during World War II, and the activities of the Mutual Aid Organization from 1941 to 1944. The epilogue of the book features an interview with Prof. Ignas Končius's son, Dr. Algirdas Končius (1915-2006).
