Description

Ona Jablonskytė-Landsbergienė (1894-1957) was the daughter of the linguist Jonas Jablonskis, an ophthalmologist who performed complex eye surgeries, mother of three children, and a Righteous Among the Nations, who hid persecuted people during World War II.

"Mummy had a unique heart, a caring, unadulterated and non-fictional maternal attitude. She is a person who seemed to be allowed by God to help and heal others - literally. And every day, with her presence, advice and example, she'd help", said her son Vytautas Landsbergis.š

This book tells the story of Lithuania in the first half of the 20th century through the fate of a single family - how historical events rippled through their lives, how families were torn apart, persecuted and how they survived.

The book contains memories of family members, professional and personal documents and surviving letters.
