Description

This publication introduces Ona Pusvaškyte, the promoter of folk graphic traditions, a folk artist, winner of the Pauliaus Galaunė Prize and the Golden Wreath competition, an active participant in graphic workshops and exhibitions, who has created nearly a hundred woodcuts and linocut prints, some of which she has donated to her native Molėtai region. O. Pusvaškytė's work is divided into two layers - folkloric and sacral. The sources of the folklore and ethnographic themes are well-known folk songs, old village life and work. The sacred carvings are based on traditional Christian iconography.
